PaperG's provides a self-serve online display ad building platform, PlaceLocal, in partnership with media companies. Allows merchants to build online display ads, choose targets in minutes and to optimize campaigns. PaperG's original ad building product, Flyerboard, is still active: a fixed position ad unit that mimics a traditional bulletin board. Virtual flyers on the board can be quickly created and posted to the unit, which looks like a cork board, along side the other "notices."

A rich media ad unit that pulls in social media including Facebook and Twitter feeds means that advertisers can change offers on the fly.  Features of the ad include three sizes: 300 x 250, 728 x 90 and the popular 300 x 600, which can hold a number of Facebook posts. Tested successfully at the Chicago Tribune, with top selling categories in Entertainment, Retail, Bars & Restaurants and Higher Education in that order. Nowspots says it charges in the $1 to $3 CPM range for the ads, which the Tribune sold for a 30 to 40 percent premium over its regular rates of $6 to $12 CPM. Impact Engine provides a DIY ad building platform for a variety of rich media ads on a revenue share basis. Premium ads include pencil pushdowns, post-it notes, wall paper units, corner peels, billboards and more. The company rolled out mobile rich media ads in September, 2012. Media users confirm that using this platform allows a production person with minimal or no training to post rich media ads in about 20 minutes.
